The Elevator Pitch RoundtablePLUS is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to network with Investors and other CXOs, present their company and ideas, receive valuable communication tips, and learn first-hand how to raise early-stage capital in today's market. As a special bonus, during a 5:00-6:00pm pre-session, all registrants are invited to meet as a group with a Pillsbury Law Partner to discuss pragmatic business legal matters relevant to entrepreneurs (e.g., organizing the tech start-up & stock options, the funding process & legal issues, IP, financing & structuring alliances, and considerations for M&A or going public). As this event will target both experienced entrepreneurs/ industry professionals AND entrepreneurially-minded faculty, researchers, PostDocs, PhDs, MBAs, it is an excellent way to learn emerging ideas from the best-and-brightest university affiliates.
Potential PRESENTERS will need to fill out the PRESENTERS’ Survey you will see during registration. All registrants may attend the pre-pitch event from 5-6pm. PRESENTERS selected to pitch will be informed during the pre-pitch session; due to time constraints only the top 8 pitchers will be selected.
If you are an entrepreneur in a startup that is currently seeking capital, and would like to present your best two minute elevator pitch to a panel of Angels and VCs, you must register in advance and have confirmation from the program manager that you are on the list of presenters. The maximum number of presenters is limited to
eight. Entrepreneurs not yet ready to present a pitch are encouraged to register and attend. By listening to the pitches, Q&A, and critiques you will learn key points to develop an effective presentation and respond to investor inquiries.
If you are an investor, come and listen to entrepreneurs’ pitches from industry, science, and fresh out of university labs. You never know where you’ll find your next deal. Find out how our panel of investors rate the entrepreneurs’ pitches; which investors choose to pass and for what reasons; and which entrepreneurs other Angels & VCs want to talk to ASAP. During the evening, entrepreneurs on the list will present their pitches to the entire room. Our panel of early stage investors will ask questions and provide brief feedback. Please note that pitching time limits will be strictly enforced! After the two minute pitch, there will be five minutes of Q&A by the panel, followed by two minutes of non-rebuttal critique.
Our lively panel discussion and Q&A will also provide critical insight into what it takes to raise capital today.
