The Entrepreneurs Gathering Focus: the Software Space February 16, 2006
Event Sponsor: The Entrepreneurs Network of Silicon Valley
Please join us for a very special evening event geared solely for Investors and Entrepreneurs working in the software space. The VC Task Force Entrepreneurs’ Gathering is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to network with investors and other CXOs, present their software company and idea, and hear first-hand what it takes to raise early-stage capital in 2006. Our first eight events drew over 50 entrepreneurs and more than a dozen investors each.
If you are an entrepreneur in a Bay Area software startup and currently seeking capital, come prepared with your best 30-second elevator pitch. In a few succinct sentences, be able to tell:
- Who you are and what you do
- What problem or opportunity you solve and why you are the one to solve it
- How much you are looking to raise and what it will be used for
We will go around the room and allow select entrepreneurs to take the microphone. Time limits will be strictly enforced!
Our distinguished panel of 4-7 top software VC and early stage investors will provide brief feedback. Panelists: John Leckrone, Partner, Adobe VenturesJoyce Chung, Managing Director, Cardinal Venture CapitalTalat Imran of The Angels' ForumRavi Mohan, Managing Director, Shasta Ventures Previous panelists have included investors from Vantage Point Venture Partners, LeapFrog Ventures, BlueRun Ventures, Intel Capital, Apax Partners, Levensohn Venture Partners, Keiretsu forum, and others.
Immediately following, our panel of investors will discuss critical topics, including:
- What does it take to raise a seed or series A round in 2006—do you need customers? Do you need revenue? Do you need profitability?
- Which sectors are hot, which are over-funded, and what is on the horizon?
- What is the best way to find and approach the most appropriate investor for your firm?
Finally, we will provide time for additional networking and the exchange of business cards and executive summaries over pizza and soft drinks.
Attendance is reserved for investors and entrepreneurs only. Registration is required as space is limited. Those who arrive un-registered will only be allowed to attend at 6:30 if there are seats available.
