Charlene Yu Vaughn, CEO, The Algonquin Group, is a frequent speaker and the author of "Insights & Opportunities.” Charlene Yu Vaughn is experienced with numerous technology and media strategic partnerships, branding, licensing, financings, turnarounds and mergers. Her career spans from global advertising giants, Young & Rubicam and Ogilvy & Mather to a founding executive of Time Warner Interactive to the President/CEO of Chuck Jones Studio Productions to President/CEO of the Tunes Network, Inc. ( to her current position as the CEO/Founder of The Algonquin Group.

Recently honored as a participant at the White House 2012 AAPI Forum, Ms. Yu Vaughn has served as the strategic advisor to over 50 leading revenue-generating emerging technology and media companies and international ventures in information technology, healthcare/life sciences, clean technology, digital media and consumer products in securing funding and accelerating their strategic growth, revenue, strategic alliances and business development. Her firm, The Algonquin Group, assists privately held and publicly traded US companies in their expansion into Asia Pac (APAC) and APAC and US companies in their expansion globally as well as into the domestic US market.

David Blumberg, Founder/Managing Director, Blumberg Capital, has been investing in early stage technology companies for more than 24 years. His current investment focus includes Digital Media, Social Media, Mobility, SaaS/Technology Enabled Services and Internet. Prior to founding Blumberg Capital in 1991, David managed technology investments with Claridge Investments, Adler & Co., Apax, and T. Rowe Price Associates. David launched the business development efforts for Check Point Software Technologies. David earned his AB in Government, cum laude, from Harvard College and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and INSEAD. David speaks French and is proficient in Hebrew and Spanish. David serves as a member or observer on the Board of Directors of Addepar, CaseStack, CoverHound, CredoRax, Cyvera, DoubleVerify, Feex, Hootsuite Media, Madvertise,, Trulioo, Upfront Digital Media, and VideoGenie. He serves on the Board of The Lincoln Club of Northern California and is a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy.

Matt Sarrel, Renowned Technology Analyst (CNN, GigaOM, etc.), has been actively working with big data for over 15 years. He is currently Executive Director ofSarrel Group, an editorial services, product test lab, and information technology consulting company. He is a Contributing Editor for PC Magazine, a Contributing Analyst for GigaOM, and a frequent contributor to the family of sites. Previously, Mr. Sarrel was a technical director for PC Magazine Labs, where he led all testing conducted by the Applications, Enterprise and Development Software, OS and Utilities, Network Infrastructure and Wireless LAN teams. Prior to joining PC Magazine, Mr. Sarrel served as Vice President of Engineering and IS Manager at two Internet startups. Prior to his experiences in the world of Internet startups, Mr. Sarrel spent almost 10 years providing IT solutions in medical research settings, beginning his career as a network administrator and ultimately serving as Director of IT for the New Jersey Medical School National Tuberculosis Center and CIO for the HIV Educational Exchange for Healthcare Workers in Vietnam project. Mr. Sarrel has earned a BA (History) from Cornell University, an MPH (Epidemiology) from Columbia University, and is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Mr. Sarrel has written for and spoken to numerous international audiences about information technology and information security. He participated as an expert in two Federal Trade Commission workshops, one about spam in 2003 and one about spyware in 2004. Matt has established himself as a small business technology expert and entrepreneur. He is also a network, information, and physical security expert. He is a passionate gamer and audiophile. He brings all of this together in his writings, lectures, and consultancy.

Dr. Jim Walsh, CTO, Globallogic, has over 30 years of software product development experience and has played hands-on management roles in well over 300 product releases. After receiving his A.B. from Harvard, he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Duke University. Prior to GlobalLogic, Dr.Walshheld engineering management or executive positions at Rational (now IBM), NeXT, Apple and at Enterprise Software developers Chordiant (now Pegasystems) and E.piphany. Today, Dr.Walshleads GlobalLogic’s innovation, architecture and technology practice initiatives with GlobalLogic's 6000+ technical staff. Dr. Walsh has led the architecture of Big Data Analytics systems for startups as well as Fortune 500 clients.

Evangelos Simoudis is a Sr. Managing Director at Trident. He joined Trident Capital in 2005 and focuses on investments in Internet and software businesses. Prior to Trident, Evangelos spent 5 years as a partner at Apax Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm where he invested and served on the boards of early and mid-stage IT companies. At Apax he also chaired the firm’s IT advisory board.Prior to entering venture capital, Evangelos had more than 20 years experience in high-technology industries, in executive roles spanning operations, marketing, sales and engineering. His experience as a technology executive includes serving as President and CEO of Customer Analytics, a Trident-backed, eCRM company acquired by Xchange, Inc., and as Vice President of Business Intelligence Solutions at IBM.Evangelos' current directorships include 8thBridge, BrightRoll, eXelate, Extole, Host Analytics and PivotLink Software. He is also a board observer for ThisMoment. Prior directorships include Acteea, Bristol Technology (acquired by Hewlett-Packard), Composite Software, Confluent Software (acquired by Oracle Corporation), DesiHits, Hip Digital, Princeton Softech (acquired by IBM) and Vidavee (acquired by Vignette (now part of OpenText).Evangelos earned a PhD in computer science from Brandeis University and a BS in electrical engineering from Caltech. Shalin Sheth is a Senior Associate at Second Century Ventures. Shalin helps identify, evaluate, and execute investments for Second Century Ventures and supports the fund's existing portfolio companies. Prior to Second Century Ventures, Shalin worked at Google where he developed sales strategy for their daily deal product. Shalin was previously a Product Manager at Tabula, a venture backed Silicon Valley start-up, where he set the direction of their software resulting in the alpha release of their cloud based solution. Prior to Tabula he worked at Xilinx, a semiconductor company, where he defined new product features and was awarded two patents on security solutions. Shalin is also a licensed real estate professional. Shalin holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and has earned a MS and BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
