Emerging Technology Forum
Freedom from Internet Intruders
April 22 |6:00-8:30 PM | 2000 University Ave, East Palo Alto
Event Sponsor: Burr Pilger Mayer

Internet intruders (both state sponsored and private criminals) are a rapidly increasing problem for consumers and business around the world.

Currently there are inadequate defenses against financial and IP theft and damage.

For example, there is infectious malware dubbed “CryptoLocker” that requires ransom to be paid in BitCoin to decrypt a victim’s files so they can be recovered.

To address issues posed by Internet intruders, startups are emerging, investor interest is growing, and computer companies are springing into action.

Many consumers are also employees that “Bring Your Own Device” to work creating an intersection between consumer and enterprise markets, which poses many challenges.

Hardware and software products are coming to market that can make cell phones and personal computers highly secure.

Join with our panel of experts to participate in a lively discussion of the current state of play and plans for the future.
