Recently, the capital markets have become more receptive to IPOs and follow on offerings for biotech companies. The hallmark of recent offerings is more mature product pipelines - products in the later stages of clinical trials, or even commercialized products. The decision to pursue the public capital markets as a financing strategy will be discussed from three different perspectives: the company, the venture capitalist and the investment banker. All three perspectives are driven by unique goals and objectives and will shed light on this important and timely subject.
