February 8, 2006 Event Sponsor: Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP
With explosion of high-speed broadband and enhanced wireless connectivity, edge devices such as cell phones, PDAs and laptops are increasing used to replace desktop PCs as the preferred consumer devices for information gathering and sharing. Technologies and services such as SMS, RFID, P2P (ie. Skype, Groove Network) have made business and consumer connectivity more real-time and cheaper to operate. Can today's server centric architecture and deployment scale to meet the need of edge explosion tomorrow? What type of services and business model makes sense in this era of edge expansion?
