Intel Capital Investment Director and search/semantic tech lead Eghosa Omoigui will lead a panel of five leading entrepreneurs, VCs and industry experts who will provide an assessment of the technology underlying, and potential impact on the consumer of, today’s next generation search and discovery, including a discussion on different approaches to horizontal and vertical search as well as the evolution of search on mobile devices. The panelists will share experiences with deploying new [semantic] search technologies and related business models. The transition to the next generation web and the high value impact of various semantic technologies on the current and next-gen UI/UX will also be discussed. Moderator: Eghosa Omoigui, Director Strategic Investments, Intel Capital; focused on Consumer Internet and Semantic Technologies At Intel Capital (ICap), the venture capital subsidiary of Intel Corporatio, Eghosa leads investments in consumer internet startups. He is also ICap’s leading expert on semantic technologies and search. Prior to this role, Eghosa was Chief of Staff of Intel Capital. Selected ICap deals that he was involved with include CADMos, Photobit, Sharewave, Get2Chip, Consera, JBoss, and AppIQ. Pre-ICap deals included GeoTrust and 800.com, among others. Eghosa has served as an advisor to the Korean IT Network and on the judging panel of venture capital professionals at the annual KIN Investment Consulting Conference. He has also been an invited judge/tutor to programs organized by the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, an organization with a mission to teach entrepreneurship to low income youth by improving their business, academic, technology and life skills. He has also been a member of several ABA Committees including the Small Business Committee, the Committee on Federal Regulation of Securities and the Task Force on Small Business Issuers. Eghosa graduated with honors from the University of Nigeria Law School, received an LL.M in Corporate Law and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and an MBA (Entrepreneurship) from Babson College. He is admitted to the bar in Nigeria, New York and Oregon.
